The Center for Intelligent Transportation and UAV Applications at Shanghai Jiao Tong University was founded in September 2011. Built upon the State Key Laboratory of Ocean Engineering and the Department of Transportation Engineering (NAOCE), it pioneers traffic data collection, urban and marine environment monitoring with UAVs and miniature mobile sensing instruments.
Research at the center spans traffic pollution & carbon emissions, NEV energy consumption analysis, UAV & environment monitoring, UAV road inspection, and UAV energy facility inspection, with active collaboration with Nanyang Technological University, Seoul National University, UNSW Sydney and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
